Tax Partner and Regional Tax Leader, Grant Thornton East Caribbean
Neil Coates is a Partner with Grant Thornton East Caribbean, bringing over 30 years of professional experience in assurance, tax, advisory, and insolvency services. He has Regional responsibility for Tax and also provides Advisory services for clients of Grant Thornton East Caribbean.
Tax services include, but are not limited to, the filing of tax returns, review and analysis of tax assessments from the Tax Authorities, preparation of tax responses, tax planning, tax defense, and other advisory services.
In terms of advisory services, his primary expertise and experience lie in the areas of financial and tax due diligence, as well as insolvency. He has been involved in a number of due diligence assignments across the hospitality and service sectors. Over the last 25 years, he has also managed a number of insolvencies in Antigua and St. Kitts. His insolvency expertise extends across various entities and industries, including both offshore (IBCs) and local financial institutions.
Neil is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Eastern Caribbean - Antigua and Barbuda Branch and currently serves as the Chairman.
