Administrative and Accounting Coordinator
Location: Barbados
Principal functions:
To perform administrative and operational support tasks effectively, communicate clearly and professionally, along with being resourceful and knowledgeable. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment, have excellent people skills, strong writing, and presentation skills, and be meticulous but flexible.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, type and present documents;
- Maintain filing systems;
- Provide administrative and secretarial support;
- Coordinate and arrange events, meetings, and appointments;
- Prepare and distribute agendas, proposals, and briefing documents for internal and external meetings;
- Provide cover for reception as needed;
- Create and maintain databases and mailing lists;
- Be a liaison with suppliers and vendors;
- Coordinates the on-boarding of new clients;
- Coordinates employees’ CVs, business cards, photo shoots, and updating of marketing material as required;
- Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings;
- Assisting with internal accounting function:
- Generally providing effective administrative and operational support as required
Skills and Requirements
- A resourceful person, who is a creative thinker with a can-do attitude;
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of work;
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and exhibits attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Working knowledge and experience in accounting and bookkeeping;
- Proficient in the use of QuickBooks and or other accounting software;
- Background in administration; and,
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
